What ingredients are used in Papa & Barkleys' products?
We start with whole plants, grown in the sun, and sourced from Humboldt farms in California. We use a proprietary lipid infusion process to create the oils used in all of our formulations. This cannabinoid-rich oil is then mixed with a variety of other natural ingredients such as coconut oil, lavender, beeswax, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, vitamin E oil, and jojoba oil.

Both recreational and medical dispensaries/delivery services sell our products. What is THC and what does it do?
THC is the abbreviation for tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the most well-known and most abundantly available cannabinoid in cannabis plants. It is the component in cannabis that is responsible for a psychoactive effect, also known as the “high.” After consumption, THC interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in our bodies. This interaction produces a variety of physiological, medicinal, and therapeutic effects.
How do you test your products?
Each Papa and Barkley product is tested 4 times throughout the production process. We laboratory test for potency, microbial and pesticides. First, we test our plants for their cannabinoid profile and to ensure they are free of pesticides and microbials. If the plant passes this stage, we then move forward with processing it through our lipid infusion process. We test a sample of the infusion for potency and microbials and pesticide. When the infusion passes that test, we then move onto blending the extract with other natural ingredients. Once everything is blended, we then send a sample of that blend to again be tested. If the blends pass this phase, they then go on to their final stage of “Cal State” testing. In this process, our products go through the multifaceted testing implemented by the state of California. Once we get state approval, our products are then ready for distribution.

Which product is best for me?
We always advise that you consult with your primary care physician prior to using any CBD/THC products.
Cannabis is an individualized medicine, so deciding on a product depends on your individual needs. There are many factors to consider when choosing a product. Here are some: Your activities for the day, do you want to feel high, duration of the product, onset time, etc…
Will I feel "high"?
THC is the most well-known and abundant cannabinoid in the cannabis plant. It is also the component in cannabis that is responsible for the psychoactive effect, also known as the “high.” With that in mind, you will notice that our products all come with ratios printed on them stating the concentration of THC present. Except for our balm and body oil, any product you see with a ratio of 1:3 CBD:THC has the potential of creating that “high.” Another product of ours that has the potential of producing that “high” is our 1:1 CBD:THC patch.
Does Papa & Barkley provide lab results for their products?
Each Papa & Barkley product is tested four times throughout the production process. We laboratory test for potency, microbial contamination and pesticides. If at any point in our internal testing we detect pesticides or microbial contamination we destroy the batch. All final products are then submitted to California state regulatory authorities for approval prior to sale. Feel free to reach out to help@papaandbarkley.com and our customer service department will be happy to provide the certificate of analysis for your specific product.
How do I store your products?
Our products can be stored at room temperature and will have a lifespan of one year. Store in a cool dark place.
What exactly is the difference between THC and CBD?
THC and CBD are both phytocannabinoids produced by the cannabis plant. There are over 100 identified phytocannabinoids produced by the plant in addition to THC and CBD. THC has a number of medical benefits and has typically been associated with the cannabis “high.” CBD is a non-psychotropic cannabinoid that is also responsible for a number of medical benefits. Feel free to visit our Knowledge Center for a thorough explanation of the different cannabinoids found in cannabis.
Will I pass a drug test?
We cannot guarantee that you will pass a drug test after using our products.
Can I use your products on my dog?
All of our products were created and designed for human use only, so we do not recommend that you use our products on your pet. We always suggest consulting your pet's veterinarian prior to using any CBD/THC products.
Which ratio is best for me?
We always advise that you consult a physician prior to using any CBD/THC products.
All of our products use ratios of THC and CBD; the two primary cannabinoids in cannabis. Ratios that are heavier in THC focus more on acute pain and ratios that are heavier in CBD are generally used for treating chronic issues and inflammation. Since each person has a unique endocannabinoid system, we often encourage clients to experiment to see which products and ratios work best for them.
What is the recommended dosage?
We always advise that you consult with your primary care physician prior to using any CBD/THC products.
