The NYC Cannabis Parade has been going on nearly 40 years, and this is perhaps one of the most critical years to date for marijuana advocates to show their support. As we’ve written before, New York City is home to one of the most dangerous places to smoke weed in the country, and overall, the state still has laws that disproportionately affect men and women of color. The Trump Administration has made it clear that they will not be a friend to the cannabis community, and coming out in numbers is one of the most important things we can do—outside of voting these losers out of office.
But let’s take a break from all of that for a second. We already have so many things to worry about, whether it’s losing our health care, facing off with North Korea, or our politicians colluding with Russia. This is a parade we’re talking about, and, we can’t forget, this is NYC, and you know that New Yorkers came out in style.
We took a moment while covering the NYC Cannabis Parade to speak with some of the craziest and most stylish people in attendance, and to find out what inspired their outfits. See more in the video above—and get your pen and paper out, because you're going to want to take notes.
